Busy times for your local team on the run through December. Operation Shepherd continues in the town centre with high visibility patrols at key times. So far the number of reported thefts and related incidents seems lower than last years which is a good start.
On 9th December we had the official opening of our move into Dalton Road Neighbourhood Management Offices. Our team of Central and Barrow Island COPS and PCSOs now operate out of these premises. This has great benefits for us, it gives us access to key partners to make problem solving easier, it also provides us with a great base to operate out of and increases our presence and visibility in Barrow town centre.
If you live in Central, Hindpool or Barrow Island and have a community based issue – come in and see us, you can speak directly to the neighbourhood management team and leave a message for us to see you if an officer isn’t available at the time.
Straight after the opening the team went out onto Dalton Road to hold a “street beat” meeting and provide crime prevention advice to shoppers and supply information on policing activity in Barrow town . We were joined by the Neighbourhood Wardens and for the first time members of the local Territorial Army who also met members of the public and provided information about Army careers.
On Thursday 16th December you can take part in our first live Web meeting by joining myself and Ch Supt Paul Kennedy on line to talk to us about local issues in Barrow and any concerns you may have over the future policing of your community.
The web meeting takes place betwen 6 and 8pm, log in and join in using the address below
